Through Christ & community, 10:12 Sports uses athletics to provide mentoring and job training opportunities to youth. 10:12 empowers our community church partners and leaders to mentor youth through Christ, developing servant leaders and successful decision makers who commit to healthy lifestyles. We are currently in the process of building and strengthening a team that embraces that mindset & provides a transformational experience in urban ministry for our staff/interns.

Job Description
In partnership with the Program Manager, the Job Training Coordinator is responsible for various programming aspects within the organization such as: workforce training, post-graduate mentoring, employment placement, and job readiness. The expectation is that these areas are managed with excellence and consistency. While there is a focus on these workforce-related tasks, the Job Training Coordinator will be joining a small but mighty team, and therefore (as indicated below) is expected to step into a diverse set of responsibilities. Knowing that all ministry flows from relationships, connections built in the greater 10:12 community are essential to the work.
10:12 sports is an organization that is adaptive to the needs of its students and community. Consequently, the Job Training Coordinator may not be working a typical full-time schedule, but instead will be asked (depending on the season) to adapt their hours to meet these needs, including Saturday Game Days.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Workforce Training (75%)
Program Related
Manage 10:12’s In-House Job Training Programs: Game Day Jobs & Equip 2 Serve
Plan and Facilitate ongoing job training/readiness opportunities for 10:12 teens & Alumni that would help to: Create Vision, Develop Skills, and Access Resources needed to excel in the job sector
Help in planning the 1012 Annual Banquet and Silent Auction Fundraiser along with additional events designed to cultivate and engage 10:12’s community, including donors, board, league and internal staff
Connect High-School aged teens with possible employment & internship opportunities, while assisting them to insure placement and retention
Post-Graduate Support
Work with Program Manager to create a strategy for supporting and mentoring current and alumni post-secondary participants in retaining employment and transitioning during employment changes
Create and implement a strategy for collaborating with young men to identify possible & desired career paths and set short & long-term goals
Plan and implement strategies to assist young men with job & career training program placement and re-employment.
Create and maintain a database to house key: contacts, opportunities and resources which could potentially assist in 10:12 teens obtaining and retaining employment
Develop and implement strategy to assist in the removal of barriers to work eligibility
Outreach (15%)
Build and maintain relevant employer & career training program relationships, leading to opts in: employment, intern experience, job shadowing, training/speaking, donations etc…
Identify and partner with appropriate partnering agencies/organizations to supplement workforce-related services for 10:12 teens and alumni
Tracking & Evaluation (5%)
Manage all workforce related tracking and evaluation methods to inform programming/service and to communicate needs and outcomes to fundraising team.
Report on work of 10:12 as needed (annual report, etc)
Partnership Building (5%)
Build and maintain relationships with community of financial and in-kind supporters including but not limited to businesses and donors (assist with partnership development “fundraising” for the ministry)
Aid In recruitment for referees, interns, players, coaches, church hosts and other groups as needed
Help in planning the 10:12 Annual Banquet and Silent Auction Fundraiser along with additional events designed to cultivate and engage 10:12’s community, including donors, board, league and internal staff
Actively participate in mentoring teens enrolled in the program
Qualifications and Personal Characteristics:
Person of integrity, actively walking out their Christian faith
Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments
Willingness and desire to build deep and consistent relationships with the 10:12 community (staff, players, stakeholders, etc)
Reliable, organized and responsible
Ability to work independently and take initiative
Strong desire to mentor teenage males
Experience working with older youth (2+ years)
Alignment with the mission and core beliefs of 10:12
10:12 works around the schedule of schools and students, flexibility in working hours is needed o High School Diploma Required (College Degree Preferred)
